Katey for Change

IMG_3403.JPG

Halito! My name is Katey Parham (she/her/hers), and I was born and raised in the South. I grew up in Texas, and I graduated summa cum laude from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. After working the 2024 campaign cycle in Philadelphia, I moved back to the South to continue fighting for a safer, more inclusive Texas, South, and Nation.

As a young Native American woman from Texas, I had no choice but to be engaged in politics. But it was the Covenant School Shooting that prompted me to take my learnings from the classroom to the Capitol. During my time in Tennessee, I saw first-hand the power of digital to mobilize and organize people around an issue as we demanded common sense gun reform. That’s why I started Katey for Change.

Through Katey for Change, I hope to leverage the power of social media to discuss current events, explain what is going on, and provide tangible ways to get involved. Politics, as overwhelming as it may be at times, matters.

Outside of politics, I am a sports fanatic (Anchor Down!), and I love to cook/bake!
